Tre White back in Buffalo for 2026?

Tre White is a Free Agent again in 2026, and his future in Buffalo is uncertain. While White is 31 years old and not quite the player he once was, he is still a player I'd love to see on the roster for the Bill's 2026 season.

Given Buffalo's tight budget against the cap, and the fact Tre White would likely give Buffalo a home town discount, its easy to see White's return next season as a real possibility. Tre White was drafted by Buffalo in 2017 where he then spent 7 seasons with the team before being released on March 13th 2024. White went on to have brief stints with the Rams and Ravens before returning back to Buffalo in April of 2025. Injuries have certainly given the cornerback a fair share of set backs in his career, but when healthy Tre White is still a great corner.

Last season, White was brought in as an insurance policy to play as a rotational guy behind the lockdown Corner, Christian Benford, and Rookie Maxwell Hairston. Plans quickly changed when Hairston was injured before the season began and White was back to starting outside for Buffalo. White played surprisingly well given his age until he also missed some time due to injury again.

Tre White still can make key plays and give opposing receivers a tough time when he is healthy and on the field. I really hope Buffalo can bring him back as a rotational depth guy and as a mentor and leader for the defense. Tre White started his career in Buffalo and that is where I hope he can end it. White has been one of my favorite players to watch over the years and I'd love for him to be here when Buffalo wins a Super Bowl. There has been a lot of change in Buffalo the last few months, and there will continue to be over the next few months. As a vocal leader on the team, White brings a lot more to the table than just his coverage abilities. Re-signing White to a team friendly deal for 1 Year is a good way to provide stability to the team.
